What a privilege it was for us to be able to walk the amazing Overland Track from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair for the seventh time.
It was a new crew of intrepid walkers that joined for this walk and here we are about to step out of the visitors centre at Dove lake into the howling wind and rain!
The tracks beginning to feel like an old friend, though every walk through this ancient, once glaciated country is different. Here are a few photos from along the way.

Looking toward Mt Oakleigh in the evening.
And in the morning.
This area was burned in the fires last year.

Lunch on the banks of the Mersey river.
The famous wombat tree, or perhaps better to say the tree with a wombat stuck through it!
Here's a short video of one of the rainforest sections on the last day of the walk (click on the arrow and allow a few moments for it to upload).
Lake St Clair from the ferry wharf in Narcissus Bay.
The crew at the other end - still smiling, and, why not?
Despite the, at times, challenging weather and terrain,
what a special experience it is to walk in this amazing part of Tasmania.
And speaking of beautiful Tasmania. Here is a shot of the Isle of Caves on the Forestier Peninsula, where I (Neil) had the delight of visiting (staying with my friends John and Jenny Coleman) after the walk.
