'The dearest freshness deep down things'

 After some overnight rain
and in the mid-morning light
the neighbourhood eucalyptus trees are gleaming.

Some seem to be dancing.

And some stretching.

These two appear to be engrossed in conversation.
I wonder, are they trees or ents,
and what they're talking about?

One way or another, they all seem at peace - content and happy to be here.

And back home,
ripening chillies blaze with colour,

aubergines swell,

zucchinis flower and fill,

tomatoes proliferate

black birds scrabble,
bees buzz from flower to flower,
beans climb
and a billion bugs gobble what they can.

All sharing, shining,
blessing and brightening this place.
