The first Benedictus Winter Arts Festival kicked off last night in Canberra with a concert featuring my old mate Steve Bevis from Hornsby days in the 80s ('bard of the outback and the backstreets') and the Bene.dict.us band of brothers. It was a great night, with a great crowd of locals and visitors from further afield. Sarah got us underway and the music flowed - Songs of Love and Mercy.
Bene.dictu.us did a set.
Steve did a set.
We had a break for conversation and mulled wine around the fire pit.
Then we did another set.
Steve did another set.
And we bought it home with a few songs shared together.
Woohoo!
Such a good night of joyous music and occasionally thought provoking lyrics. Thank you for lifting our spirits when sometimes the world is very dark.
