There’s nothing like clouds to make a good sunrise, and the cloud cover this morning was pretty amazing.
It was a shorter stage today, just over thirty kilometres, and also flatter than the past couple of days, all of which was appreciated by my legs. There were sections of open grassland and smaller patches with more trees. All of it was quiet and mellow, and delightful to walk.
Morille comes into view.
For some reason, the albergue is quite full tonight. It’s hard to work out why 20 pilgrims appear in one town on the same day, when for days all you’ve seen is three or four, but that’s how it is. Albergues with that many pilgrims in residence are a challenge - all part of the Camino experience!!
The internet is terrible in this little town so I won’t add too much more. Hopefully, the photos give a bit of sense of what has been a great days’ walking.
Tomorrow… Salamanca, one of the four larger cities on this Camino. The old city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988 and I am very much looking forward to being there. I hope to be able to share some of its delights through the blog tomorrow.
Buen Camino
Neil💚👣
PS. That’s my washing hanging from the bridge in the last photo. As mentioned in an earlier blog, when it comes to drying clothes on Camino, necessity is the mother of invention!!
What a sunrise! Ken
ReplyDeleteYou are making wonderful progress, Neil. Salamanca awaits! Beware of the astronauts carved in stone around the arched doorway of the medieval cathedral - seriously . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat incredible skies and what an incredible trip you are both having! Just loving all your photos. Thanks so much for sharing them. Walsa
ReplyDeleteYour feet are on the ground AND your head is in the clouds! How cool are those clouds! 😊❤️👣Deb
ReplyDeleteWow! what a sunrise and the cloud formation in all these photos, so unique. There has been so much to enjoy of your travels, but not the cold hands and slipping bowl. Keep nourished and enjoying step by step. Bxx
ReplyDeleteYesterday’s pictures of dawn sky *looked* cold, and today’s looked … ravishing. Although I see cold hands on at least one other pilgrim. It must feel strange to be alone and then plunged into flux of other people and voices, agendas. I wonder how it will be for Sarah when she rejoins the way of everyday life? Travel safe, KAS
